Wedding stuff

As I said at the end of my last post, wedding fever kicked in after Christmas.  Thursday involved picking up Tuxes and preparing the place cards for the rehearsal dinner.  Since the printer didn't seem to like the small pieces of paper that we were using, I ended up having to write out all the names by hand...  I am definitely not a calligrapher, but they turned out OK with my "architectural" style of hand writing.  I also had to "be-dazzle" all of them with color-coded "jewels" so the wait staff knew which of the 3 dinner options each person ordered when they RSVP'd.  The CFO directed traffic and supervised (her specialty), making sure that they were all done correctly.

I'm happy to report that the rehearsal dinner and wedding both went well, here is a picture of the CFO and I all dressed up before the wedding:

The CFO's brother is a wrestling fan, so I shouldn't have been surprised by the wrestling themed grooms cake:

And I can honestly say that I had nothing to do with this... Obviously I'm getting old when I'm not interested in the idea of decorating some one's car, that used to be the best part of going to weddings. The use of colored tape and post it notes was an interesting touch:

After the wedding, the CFO and I had a day to unwind before we had to drive back to cold Illinois.  The good news is that we were able to make the drive in 11 hours, plus a 45 minute stop at an outlet mall that we passed on the way to VA.  If there is one thing that the CFO can't resist (besides me, of course) it is an outlet mall.  I'll admit that it was nice to get out of the car and stretch my legs for a while.

Since getting back home, we've been hammered with subzero temperatures, dug out from a heavy, drifting snowfall that shut the town down for a day AND the CFO has been sick with a nasty cough.  The beginning of 2014 has been eventful to say the least.
